Was grad at Brown in 1825 and from Maine Medical School in 1828. He settled in Waterville and won for himself an excellent reputation as a medical practioner. 18
Samuel married Mary Jane Appleton, daughter of Moses Appleton and Ann Clark, on 22 June 1830.18 (Mary Jane Appleton was born on 14 December 1805 in Waterville, Kennebec County, Maine 21 and died on 30 July 1886 18.)
